I love watching movies. It's my favorite past time. And every good movie has something unique. This goes for movies across genres. Of course depending upon your liking and ability to relate or understand certain subjects, you might not like a good movie. But that doesn't mean it's not a good movie. But what a movie buff would always agree is that any movie that gets fan following, does follow one strategy. It sticks to the core subject. It has a character.
As long as a movie or a web series sticks to it's core subject and puts in efforts to convey the story without getting slow, it would turn out to be a good movie. If it's an action movie, it should have the best possible action sequences. For a comedy one, you should be laughing your guts out. For a drama, it should touch your emotions. A musical should make you tap your feet.
I believe, just like any good movie, we all have one true character. Some are calm minded, some are outlandishly funny. Some are extremely talkative, while some are just good listeners. And as we grow old, I think we understand what traits belong to our personality, our character. It doesn't matter if you like your traits, they probably wouldn't change. And here I'm talking about traits, not bad qualities. Bad qualities can always be changed. For example, if you like to gossip, then being talkative is your trait not gossiping.
I think, it's important to nourish this true character. Instead of looking out at society, and deciding what our personality should be, one should look within to understand what puts you at peace. The society would always puts everyone under pressure to follow certain traits, but some of these traits might be against your true character. This impacts our mental health, cause basically we try to become something we are not.
But if you could overcome this pressure, then there're no more masks. No more faking acts. No more pretentions. Just simply you. And this is one of the most surreal feeling. Once your outside act matches your inside character, you find real peace. It's like riding your favorite bike on your favorite road at a time when the weather is at its best and no traffic as well.
Tough part is to maintain this personality. Let it be FOMO or professional obligations or tough relationships, we often give up and change our character so that we are aligned with the flow. But remember, just like any bad movie, if we try to mix up too many things to the subject, it becomes a mess.
So try to be that good movie, which might not be liked by all, but who understand the subject will cherish it to the fullest.
